Bet you thought I'd died!

My, it has been a mighty busy couple of months!  I am almost done my orientation to CCU, and have really had a great orientation experience!  I have opted to do my mandatory computer classes at home instead of taking time off of the floor.  I figure I can use all the time I can get on the floor, learning as much as I can before I go solo.  I am pretty nervous still about having the group to myself, but I know that there is a great group at night, and that they will be willing resources for me when I will eventually need them!

Anywho... on to more non-work related issues!   T and I went to the charity showing of "Serenity" benefiting Joss Whedon's (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly/Serenity) chosen charity "Equality now" in celebration of his birthday.  They called it "Serenity Now!"  It was really fun evening!  T and I had already seen it in the theaters, and had just finished watching the series on DVD.  There was not a huge audience, but still a pretty good sized showing.  It was held in a really old theater located downtown.  It kind of smelled of moth balls and I think there was only one theater in the whole building.  They had a costume contest and gave out some really cool raffle items that were donated from some sponsors.  Among the more interesting items were some imitation Serenity jewelery  (knock off's of the items the characters wore on the show).  The movie itself was awesome... climaxing in the melting of the celluloid at the pivotal fight scene/fighter banter... lol.  It was awesome!  Everyone shrieked, and then we had some folks offer to act out the rest of the movie!  I don't think I have laughed that hard in a while!  They got it back up running and really we didn't miss too much.  The part of the movie that got smoked was the part where the bad guy asks Mal what his favorite sin was.  He says he's fond of them all but that Wrath was probably his favorite *badly paraphrased*.  Anyways, it came out something like "Ath is my favorite sin!".  The Atlanta Browncoats (the ones to host the show) started making noise online the next day that they were going to make t-shirts for Dragon Con this year that said "Ath is my favorite sin!"... lol

Wheee.... the fun we had!
