This morning we started out by going to the Pride Celebrations downtown. We don't always go, but after a few years absent we went last year and really enjoyed it. It's funny, when you just live your life you start to forget you are different than everyone else. But, the fact is that we are.. and sometimes it is just really nice to be around people who don't give a rats ass if you hold hands. Not that we did... we just really enjoyed the walk around the park. It is also nice to know which companies support you regardless of sexual orientation. I really do try to support those companies who do take that hard stand of non discrimination.... particularly in today's climate of attempted constitutional amendments about sexual orientation prompted by our president. Anyways... I digress, and you know how much I hate politics. There was only one overt sign of picketing by these angry looking middle aged white men. I just choose not to think about that.
In the evening after a rest at home, we went out to dinner with Lynette and her husband to the Old Spaghetti Factory. It seems like forever since I have been there! Lynette brought us each a pedometer... which was really cool! I was thinking about getting one since I saw my preceptor using one the other day. After that we went to The Fox and saw "Chicago". It was a good musical. I can't say I was a complete fan of the style of music, but I certainly liked the story line. T loves that soundtrack so I think she really liked the play! At the end of the evening T and I were forced to run to the car amid a torrential downpour. There was a nice gentleman who shared his umbrella with me for a while. That was very nice of him!
It has been a good day!
